2015-16 Library Media Specialist Survey Worksheet

Word Version or PDF Version

Springtime for school libraries means finalizing your library inventory, gearing up for summer reading, and taking the statewide School Library Survey!  The Library Media Specialist Survey will run until July 1, 2016

Completion of the Library Media Specialist Survey is more critical than ever before! Two of the indicators on the survey will be reported on the State’s School Report Cards this fall -  the number of items in the school’s library collection and collection age. These indicators provide important data that ties in directly with the Read to Succeed Act.

A few tips for librarians on taking the survey:

  • Your survey data is important – Your survey data is used to advocate for our school library programs in SC, and we truly appreciate and value the time you spend taking this survey.  If we don’t say it enough, thank you!
  • For your records – Use the worksheet as the copy of your data – you can print out the final page of the survey for your proof of completion.

  • Questions?  Email Mrs. Regina Thurmond at [email protected] or Ms. Dana Jones at[email protected].

The South Carolina Department of Education conducts the survey annually; all of the results are reported directly to them. Survey results will be shared on the schools' report cards!
